The Role:

Polaris is looking for a motivated individual to take responsibility for managing its business in Western Australia, South Australia and Northern Territory. This position in based in Perth (work from home office). Great base salary on offer plus attractive sales commission paid quarterly.        

Our core business is reliant upon outstanding performance in the core agricultural markets and the Retail Development Manager role is critical to stimulate and drive sustainable growth, sales results, dealer network development and continuous improvement.  A highly accountable role, the Retail Development Manager will accept full responsibility for delivering sales results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, driving the corporate vision and values throughout the dealer network, broadening the scope and ability of the dealer network, and facilitating aggressive, targeted marketing plans to both grow ongoing retail activity and add value to the long-term brand value of Polaris. 

Most importantly, the Retail Development Manager will add significant value to our dealers and be an outstanding conduit between the dealer network and Polaris, establishing positive and mutually beneficial relationships with dealers and Polaris employees alike, and taking ownership over all key profit centres within a dealership to ensure the long-term viability and growth of our dealers and ensuring the growth of all key elements within the Polaris business. 

You will be responsible for:

•    Exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual sales and market share targets
•    Managing independent dealer network across a specified territory
•    Dealer network development, particularly sourcing and identifying suitable prospective dealer candidates in vacant markets, along with benchmarking existing dealers
•    Identifying & providing training of dealership staff
•    Creating and driving local area marketing plans in consultation with dealers
•    Targeted local launches for new and innovative product
•    Managing and attending Field Days and events on behalf of Polaris
•    Implementing corporate identity programs
•    Undertaking market and competitor analysis

The ideal candidate must possess the following attributes:

•    Strong business and commercial acumen  
•    Tertiary qualified with a relevant business qualification
•    Significant automotive or powersport industry experience 
•    Good understanding of and experience in commercial/dealer business operations         
•    A high-level of initiative and the ability to be autonomous and self-motivated
•    An outstanding communicator who has their finger constantly on the pulse of the market and the dealers
•    Someone who takes responsibility and ownership, is highly accountable for their results and actions
•    A drive and passion for success and growth
•    The ability to be dynamic and flexible with dealers without deviating from the corporate plan, processes and systems
•    An inspirational leader who can motivate our dealers to new heights
•    A high level of discipline and attention to detail for dealer follow-up, management reporting and communication
•    Someone who says what they are going to do, then does exactly what they've said
•    The ability to deliver results under all circumstances
•    Experience in the agricultural industry would be advantageous
•    Frequent travel requirement
